Using Element Europe’s award winning modular room solution has enabled a 59 bedroom hotel to open on schedule at Oswestry in Shropshire.

Oswestry’s new hotel and restaurant has been hailed as the first stage in the development of a high quality business park just off the A5.

The new Whitbread hotel was delivered by Oswestry based J Ross Developments with the building work carried out by the company’s in-house contracting arm J.R. Pickstock Ltd.

J. Ross Project Manager Rob Humphreys said the new hotel was a significant development for the town and had been built in a unique method:

“Using a new and innovative modern building system allowed us to meet a tight construction programme and provided significant environmental benefits.

“We worked with our sister company Elements Europe, utilising their award winning modular rooms for 45 of the 59 bedrooms. The ‘Roompod’ solution sees the rooms assembled and fully fitted in the Oswestry factory  before being transported to the site, where they are stacked as structular, modular units which subsequently form the fabric of the entire building.

“The development is the first stage in establishing Oswestry Gateway as a high quality business park, with opportunities for offices, day nursery, trade counter, motor dealership and employment land.”

Leisure giant Whitbread opened the Premier Inn Hotel and Table Table restaurant, to be called Oswald’s Cross.

Premier Inn General Manager Robert Cooke said the development provided 50 new jobs and the opening marked the first stage in the development of the business park.

Our Service

Initial inquiry:
On receipt of project details our technical team will assess and make recommendation as to the feasibility of applying pod solutions to the scheme. We will then provide an indicative cost plan by operating an ‘open-book’ policy.

Specification:
Element’s team of specialist design and technical engineers will assist in providing an optimum detailed design solution.

Pre-production unit:
Once a final design and cost solution is agreed Elements will manufacture a pre-production unit within our facilities for client inspection and sign off.

Procurement:
With over 500 suppliers on board Elements, can maximise the opportunity to offer an excellent range of quality fit out solutions and through our materials management system will ensure that products are procured in time to meet production and delivery schedules.

Manufacturing:
With the investment in a mechnisied manufacturing system at our 33,000sqft facility in Shropshire, Elements can deliver a highly sophisticated and uniquely customised product and have the capacity to produce over 70 pods per week.

Commence delivery:
Once internal quality checks have been made to each product, Elements will provide a complete delivery, installation and commissioning service to support the entire build process.

Handover & Ongoing support:
Handover is arranged to suit the rate of build on site, ensuring that when critical paths exist, potential disruption is minimised by creating buffer storage zones at our facility.
